Thursday was an action-packed day for St Catherine's lifeboat crew, which started with a school visit by Jersey College Preparatory. Over 70 primary school children got the chance to learn about the RNLI and some sea and beach safety messages, as well as try out the different inshore lifeboat roles and try on our crew kit.
The action continued straight after with the arrival of a new launch vehicle. Our previous launch tractor has reached the end of its operational life and has returned to Poole for a refit and then for deployment into the relief fleet. We now have a new tractor on station, which comes with an updated access deck for the driver, a roll bar, LED lights and improved power steering.
