St Helier ALB assists sailing boat on south coast of Jersey

The St Helier RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat was tasked on Sunday evening to assist a small sailing boat with 3 persons on board which had found itself in difficulties off the south coast of Jersey in tricky conditions, with winds gusting up to 45 knots and a lively sea.

The crew were on scene quickly and established a stern tow with the casualty vessel. The tow was transferred to an alongside tow in the relative calm by Elizabeth Castle before the casualty was brought into St Helier Harbour.

The lifeboat was then refuelled and prepared for her next service.
