RNLI St. Helier All-weather lifeboat assists drifting vessel

The St. Helier All-weather lifeboat launched following a report of a vessel which had suffered drive failure some five-and-a-half miles south-south-east of St. Helier.

Another vessel that was en route to St. Malo stood by the casualty, which was being carried east and then north by the current, until the lifeboat arrived to assist. The 9m motorboat, with 7 people on board, was then taken under tow to St. Helier.

Both vessels arrived safely just before 20:00 and the lifeboat was back on station just after 20:15 where she was made ready for her next call.
