The crew launched and headed towards the casualty, but on the way were also alerted to a sailing vessel that had become entangled with fishing gear around its rudder. Thankfully, the sailing vessel still had steering and was able to continue towards Gorey.

The lifeboat then located the original casualty. With no communications possible and one person visibly suffering from seasickness, the decision was made to establish a tow.

The casualty was safely brought back into St Helier Harbour.
