Favourite beach - Le Braye. Best safety advice - Swim when the lifeguards are on duty at a lifeguarded beach. " I’ve been fortunate enough to surf my entire life and the surf skills gained from this are a great help when lifeguarding. I’ve relied on them on numerous occasions when completing out of hours rescues while I have been at the beach or out surfing, often along St Ouen's bay after 6pm when the lifeguards have finished patrols. The conditions can change rapidly, and we can have some really strong rip currents on our beaches, so I would always recommend swimming and bodyboarding in between the red and yellow flags. "
