I have a long family history with Search and Rescue. My father is a retired SAR coordinator for the RAF, my sister was a beach lifeguard when we lived in Cornwall and my brother-in-law has been a winch man/winch operator for the RAF and now Bristow for many years. Growing up in Cornwall meant I have had a strong relationship with the RNLI and after over 20 years behind a desk I felt it was time to give something back.
