Joined in 2014, to do my bit for the community. Having been pulled out of the water myself (not by the RNLI) I realised just how important a lifesaving service such as the RNLI is, especially on an Island. I had no background/experience in boating when I joined but thanks to the detailed training and great team spirit among the crew I was soon more than just competent.
