Blessing of The Boats Ceremony Call Out!

On Sunday 9th September the Blessing of The Boats service took place at St Aubin Harbour.

It was a lovely turn out and a beautiful day for the event. The St Helier ALB and Howard D were along side the Boat House and many people were impressed with the boats when seeing them so close up!

Hymns were sung and the boats were blessed by St Brelade's Church.

The evening was cut a little short when the ALB was called out - never a dull moment!

When the ALB started up her engines and left the harbour, onlookers from The Boat House were waving and wishing them luck, many smiles from our crews!

For such a small and short event we raised an impressive £443.70 from our collection buckets.

One man came over to our Guild member Diana and said 'they saved my life once'. Moments like these really touch our crew and guild members and it reminds us why we are so passionate about RNLI.

Thank you to everyone that came down to St Aubin on Sunday afternoon.
