Two shouts in one hour

It was a busy afternoon for RNLI Jersey today (Monday 10th June) with two call outs in one hour.

The first call came in just after 4pm for the St Helier all-weather lifeboat. A 28 foot vessel with 4 people on board had suffered engine problems 3.5 miles west of Grosnez. The ALB made its way round to the casualty vessel and took them under tow back to St Helier.

An hour after the ALB was called out, a call came in for the St Helier inshore lifeboat. An 18 foot vessel with 2 people on board had broken down east of the Hinguette buoy. A commercial tour RIB had made contact with the vessel and the St Helier ILB made way to the vessel and took over the tow back to St Helier.

The ILB was back on station just before 6pm and the ALB was back on station just before 7pm.
