Find out what our crew members do during the day and what they love about volunteering for the RNLI!
I joined RNLI Jersey Guild sponsored by the late Jane Butterworth in 1995. I had been in the Glasgow South Guild when we lived in Scotland until 1989. My father was in the navy and we were always trotted round every harbour when on holidays from Zimbabwe! When he retired here he finaĺly had his own boat in St Catherines. He had the sea in his blood. RNLI was highly regarded in our family knowing that it was entirely funded by donations to provide the amazing rescue services by brave volunteer crews in all weathers. We remember the Fraserburgh and Penlee tragedies and how quickly more volunteers stepped forward to form another crew. We have always supported the organisation and helped when we could with fundraising. It has also been a pleasure joining the 2 lifeboat stations together with our open days and visits from Pirou lifeboat. RNLI Jersey is a family of volunteers and the new ideas from our new members has been so encouraging.
