St Catherine's inshore lifeboat assists broken down RIB

The St Catherine's inshore lifeboat was called out on Saturday night to assist a RIB which was suffering from an overheating engine and had broken down 2.5NM NE of the Ecrehous.

The RIB, which had 4 passengers on board, including 2 children, was rapidly being swept north on a falling spring tide.

The lifeboat crew located the RIB quickly and brought it under tow back to St Catherine's, where the crew from the casualty vessel were transferred ashore.

The link below shows some of the action although it was very dark and so the quality of the footage is pretty grainy!
